Butuan city is, however, a metropolis for the adventurous people and for those, who don’t like to be in a big city.

The airport brought me again in implausible amazement. Never before have I seen such a small airport: a single room with a single baggage carousel – totally jam-packed with the luggage.

But anyway, Butuan is also rich in cultural heritage that seduces travelers thirsty for ancient history. Butuan city is known as one of the oldest settlements in the Philippines. Some tourist spot in this place are the Balangay Shrine in Brgy. Libertad which houses the ancient excavated boats. The Butuan National Museum and look for the replica of the 13th century solid gold image of a Hindu-Malayan deity—the Golden Tara. choose your adventure at Delta Discovery Park in Brgy. Bonbon. Hop on the buggy or ATV and test your driving skills. Or giddy up on a horseback ride!  If you like flying, strap yourself and zip your way to the verdant wilderness!

One information you might need to know, taxi don’t exist in Butuan, so don’t expect that you’ll find one. The so-called Jeepnis are the only thing youl’ll see as transportantion. Another possibility is to rent a car for the duration of your stay.

Butuan city is really fascinating for adventure, with many exciting challenges to experience.

You will also find a breathtaking waterfall like Bugsukan Falls, just located in Brgy. Bugsukan, Butuan City. The name Bugsukan comes from the strong current of water smashing down. The tiered falls are known for its crystal clear and clean waters. The Tagnote Falls, which is located at Sitio Tagnote, Brgy San Anotnio, Remedios T. Romualdez (RTR). It is spectacular falls just a few minutes away from downtown Butuan. The falls is ideal for summer splash because of its cold water. Bugsukan falls is also a magneficient tiered waterfalls hidden in the mountains of Butuan. It is located at Brgy. Bugsukan, the falls is known for its crystla clear and clean waters. The water from the falls is a source of irrigation for some rice fields in the city.

Butuan is also rich in pristine beaches like Cubi Cubi Beach. It is the perfect spot for a family outing, or for couples who simply would like to spend quality time with each other. This is a very popular tourist destination, and during the peak seasons, it can get very crowded with people. The Tinago Beach is truly a city beach, where stylish hotels and resorts can be found, and where the swankiest bars in town are located by the beachside. Last but not the least is the Vinafor Beach. It is the beach diving site in Butuan, and according to the Tourism Board, is one of the top 5 beaches in the city. This is the place for the adrenaline junkies who enjoy a thrill ride above everything else. The activities are endless, from water skiing to snorkeling, but the true star is diving.

The area for Europeans generally applies (among backpackers and expatriates) to be safe, but you will also find the opposite course, but this is completely normal and part of life.
